Bio statement

Lisa Gualtieri, PhD, ScM, is an Assistant Professor in Public Health and Community Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. She teaches Online Consumer Health, Social Media and Health, and a 1 week Summer Institute on Web Strategies for Health Communication. She received a grant from Tufts to investigate the use of social media in medical school courses. Her research centers on social media for public health and physician-patient communication. Her latest paper is on the potential of social media to educate farm families on injury prevention in children. She and Pam Ressler are researching why patients write blogs and the medical implications.
